I need to get a new black light and was wondering what the best one to get would be? Cobbs ?

I never had good luck with anything rechargeable.

I bought the 21 led one off ebay. It works slightly in lit rooms but not great. The rooms still need to be darkened a bit.

cobbs! I take it into the home and show the customers. That one small accident turns into dozens. Customers are very impressed. Heck he even dropped the price twenty bucks since I bought mine.

Yup it's 405 bucks but worth every penny considering the money you'll make back, and how bright it is.

You can pick up the same model at Interlink Supply as well.

The less expensive ones that have the multiple little led's are crap.
The xenopus 390nm light delivers 900mw of actual UV from their website.

Our newest UV light delivers over twice that actual UV power,

in addition to having better focus.

http://ccs5.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70&products_id=1384

It also has state-of-the-art lithium-ion rechargeable battery,
compared to the heavy lead acid battery on xenopus.

With the power level we offer now . . ,
UV stain removal with oxidizers is much faster.

I think Larry should be invited to MF to show his light and advice on urine work.

So, does the nipple (if you'll call it that, center beam) of the light the only thing that registers the pee? Or does the areola (outer lighter rim beam) highlight the pee too? The nipple looks pretty bright, almost being hindered to look at it.

With the intent of educating and not disrespecting Larry's fine product:
The wavelengths that cause the urine to fluoresce are ultraviolet - beyond the spectrum of visible light. What appears as white light or even purple/ violet light is not the wavelengths that are most helpful. You would need special camera or film to "see" the invisible wavelengths that are really useful in identifying urine.

The real test is to see urine fluoresce, not to see how much visible light is produced. The visible light is just a distraction.

The photos shown do not look like what your eyes would see.

The spot is not white, but actually a deep purple.

Digital cameras show light that our eyes do not perceive.

UV light is at the edge of what is visible.

If you want to know about the light you can pm me or call me, I didn't care if it was from Larry or whoever it was from, I use the light almost every day, and it is great. It has nothing to do with Larry's products either, I just like the light. Just buy it, if you don't like, send it back. You can even ask for a free sample of his powders when you get any products, I never spoke to Larry just Jerry his sales guy, he always tries to get me to use the samples, but I haven't needed it.
