Soft water?

I would like to know if anyone runs a soft water unit and if the difference in cleaning is noticable?

yes, test your ph with and without soft water.

I never really compared soft and hard water results. I do know this.....

1. I get away with using much lower chemical than the recommended amount.
2. My machine has never shown signs of scaling.

Probably depends where you live. Some places have terribly hard water so you would see a huge difference. Other places, like the pacific northwest have fairly soft water and you may not notice much of a difference. You can do a test or perhaps talk to your water district to see where your area falls.

I seem to remember seeing some pictures of some nasty internal plumbing in Mikey's unit, and he runs soft water.
