It could be so many things, acne medication, foot medication anything with benzoyl peroxide in it.

Could be the cleaner they used had peroxide in it. Oxiclean or any boosted with peroxide will over lighten the area.

You'll say it something else but we all know that is a repeat customer from your 40Vol days :D

A certain Krispy Kreme addicted instructor used to tell stories about you and 40 volume years back.

Crappy over the counter spotters, such as Spot Shot, etc…
The client buys it in hopes to keep their flooring clean, but in reality, all it does is cause damage.
Because NOBODY ever reads the label, or ‘tests in an inconspicuous area’….
And they never extract it…
So, the cleaning agent lies in wait for us to come along, clean the carpet, then blames us for the bleached out areas, or thinks that’s what all the carpet should look like…

Maybe I'd have better luck asking this question over on Roger Lloyd's Facebook page...

They are clean spots created by a dog licking his paws, obsessively.

Very common over here and easily recognizable, or so I thought.

Losers.
