Got 2 calls in the last 2 days....both commented on my site and why they chose to

A. call me
B. chose me over other companies they called....


The family picture at the start.....said they liked it and it showed that i was in fact a family biz, and local....

The little Blog insert about hoses, and the size difference.....2.5 vs 2 vs 1.5...etc...said it made total sense...now I need to add about the heat I use and jetting/water flow and the benefits..

So here is the question.....1 was a man, the other a woman.....who liked what??



oh and for those who said NOT to use BLACK in your site

Thanks...based on your post and your immense sample size I converted all my sites to dark color schemes.

Question though...did it ever occur to you that the people who DO call you are obviously going to give answer that affirms the fact that there was some reason they called you?


How many people don't call you based on your site? How would you go about figuring that out?

seriously though.....I am just happy as a pig in shit, that it is pulling something.....BY FAR AND AWAY.....the best bang for the buck vs any other advertizing....and while i never continued to throw money at things, and i realize some of them are stupid anyway..(dont ask cuz i just tried to think which ones) This HAS worked...at least some what..

why ya gotta ruin my buzz???? lol

And if you asked any cleaner in UT they all would tell you...out here....things dont flow like they do else where...so to use #s..most dont translate to out here.....

that becomes the challenge. You can only ask, of those that chose you from your website, what they liked and why they called. You can't ask the ones that didn't call. And its hard to get feedback from someone who isn't going to call, ie to get them to send feedback as to why they didn't choose you.

I would go through my analytics to see what kind of conversion I am having. I may talk to my web guy and ask him how I am doing compared to other companies like mine.

Another thing I would do is analize the type of customer I am getting and if it fits the type of company I run. If I am getting a lot of price shopper calls I would change the site to reflect higher end service.

Another thing to do is ask your current customers what the most important thing they look for in a carpet cleaner. (I would bet it isn't a larger vac hose). For most of my ideal clients it would be a combination of:

High level of service that includes furniture moving
appearances that reflect that they can trust us in the home
a level of professionalism that gives them confidence we will do what we say
The feeling we care and will take good care of them.

A side note on color btw. Coit uses black trucks but their website has an orange theme. The reason why is that orange reflects a bargain, Think payless shoes and the color of their logo...

If you really want some advanced homework on websites and the best way to appeal to women (since women are the ones that call us the most) Go look at some lesbian based porn sites and the colors and styles they use.

funny out here i seem to get the most calls from men...ehh well make that a 50-50..

The one I just did that commented about the family....I had a nice conversation with them about it....

They were going to have stanley in july...but canceled because they had a big suprize party for the wife/mom....

wife told the husband...go find someone to come clean....(they had a long time one but he wasnt around VM was full and couldnt get a hold of him....YAY ME JUST PICKED UP A LONG TIME CUSTY!!!)

Husband went on web looking......told wife....hey come in here and look at this company....saw my family was like theirs...(3 girls and 1 boy now grown) And said...hes making a living for his family...he is local...lets call him....

10 rooms LIGHT soil....told them my $30 a room charge...didnt even blink... Asked for more cards one of the girls lives close....has a couple friends who used the other guy....

win, win, win...

Right from the go I wanted something DIFFERENT.....really I want CC to tell me how to make a website:icon_rolleyes:

I am getting EXACTLY what i hoped for on return....it produces right around $3-400 a mth avg...this last month...$1500 in 1 week:rockon:...from calls over the last month or 2...scheduled out...

all this from getting it popped out there some 8 mths ago....

Hoodles did exactly as I wanted him to...threw in a little bit of SEO (which i need to take time and update/expand)

I am getting not only Res, calls, but Com as well...

am I going to take over the great SLC area.....probably not....is it going to help the bottom line...and bring more in that I other wise wouldnt get....wellll ya..

and also..out of the however many that have called......only a handful were price shopping, and only 2 that i can think of balked at my price....
