why do you need two blowers

True dual wand. One blower per wand.

Even though there are 2 and the tank has 2 chambers, they can be connected for single- wand use for more airflow and double tank capacity. Two 36 blowers provide about 560 CFM @ 14" Hg. Two 45's provide about 650 CFM.

So what kinda belt are you going to use to drive the two blowers? Can a regularly used belt handle the two blowers without breaking too quick? Or will you double it up?

One belt per blower. We use BX series, which is commonly available. The engine shaft will have two separate pulleys. Each blower will have one pulley, and as a result, one drive belt. (We use two BX belts on 47 blowers.)

The pulleys are 7.25" diameter, which means that there is a lot of "belt wrap", or surface contact between belt and pulley. As a result, belt tension doesn't have to be as much in order to maintain good traction. This minimizes side- load on bearings as well as promotes long belt life.
