as in those that follow the dye makers instructions to the letter. Have you had success with spraying 140+ degree dye water from a common trigger sprayer?, cause I went through 3 triggers practicing and found it even more difficult to keep the dye water at 140 degrees after getting it into the spray bottle.

I'm no expert, but my mom is.... She uses an eye dropper.... You tend to get a halo effect with the trigger sprayer.... You can also use airbrush for spots and to correct side-match problems.... They call it feathering.... Airbrushing is so much faster.... Dave Newman in Cali who's a flooring inspector and I think president of 1 association showed my mom how to use the airbrush method....

I don't have the patience for it....

I never found it necessary to maintain 140º.

As far as a halo, if the dye mixture you are using is light enough, you can dump it way past the spot will no ill effect.

I would always start mixing the dye a little weak, and gradually darken it up until I got a perfect match, extracting as I go with a small wet vac.
