I have an account with 2-3 month old carpet squares .. the janitorial company was keeping up on spills using spot shot but not rinsing it out .. at all !! Im heading in this weekend to do its very first encapsulation cleaning using a Cimex.

Will I need to rinse the spot shot residue out with HWE first or will the encap process take care of the residue? Thanks !!

Spot Shot products don't need rinsing in the first place, only blotting according to it's label, and already contain a "Anti-Resoiling" agent, which is likely a encapsulating agent of some sort, so I doubt any residue would be much of a issue.

Anything you still can see after encapping will probably come up with an absorbent pad if you have a floor machine.

I had a customer with a teenage son who had shot spots all over his room

Spot shot is supposed to be a volatile (non residual) dry solvent.

Just drown it with encap, like the rest of them Chavezes.

I never thought to carbonate it.

Could call it fizzing.

The janitors applied spot shot to these areas which removed the spots but these appeared .. we applied distilled water to the spots, rubbed with a brush and it was a little sudsy !! If spot shot doesnt leave a residue then Im stumped !!

How do you encap cleaners deal with residual spots? I dont see you hwe them before the encapping !!

Generally we apply a encap spotter like Magic Bullet and then you can either towel or pad it when just spot cleaning the area.

If we are doing the whole area, we will apply the spotter and when you come to those areas spend extra time (grinding it in :shifty:) on those spots to ensure they don't return. :winky:
