I'm going to run a couple of shelves above the waster tank. I already have the max shelving from lowes. I used it before. This time though it's going to have a heavier load. I plan on putting a couple of 5 gallon stock solutions on it. Time will tell if it takes the weight. I could just make some out of stainless. What gauge should I use. I tend to go way to heavy. It would be long 83". The depth would be whatever the compressor measures. I think it's 18" deep. I would also have my tool box and compressor on it. It would probably end up with some gallons also.
I don't know what everything would weigh but you also have to account for bounce.

Almost 7 feet long by 18 inches wide? Can you run a support to the floor in 1 or 2 places, or will the entire span have to be self-supporting just by the ends?

If you did it in stainless sheet with a turned up lip on front and back and a couple supports in from the ends I think 16 gauge would be plenty heavy, but your garage shelving looks pretty good, with enough supports.

I have 6 stainless steel AT shelves. They are actually cheaper to buy than itd be for me to build them. Hold a lot of weight and are very sharp looking.

I already have it so that's what's going in. The main problem is it doesn't have a lip on the front since its for a garage. I have to strap down the compressor or it will fall off. Gallons will also slide around. I might come up with something until I get a chance to make the stainless shelves. I still have the aero tech spool waiting for me to change my hose reel. To many things and not enough time. It's not a complaint, I just have plenty of work. When you can do things yourself it can sometimes get in the way. Sometimes it's better to pay someone and be done.

install them upside down and you will have a 1" lip

I think I tried that but it wouldn't work. I forget why. These are designed to lock on to the bracket. That may have been the reason. I'll look again.

Piggy back away. Everyone does. Few threads stay on track past page one.
