Hello Everyone, I am Starting my own business in the Seattle area. I just went and picked up a Rotovac CFX-15 Dual Three stage. The suction is great and even just using it with a manual wand I am getting super happy customers. However I am wondering what I should add to the equipment arsenal next. I have my eye on the Rotovac 360i and I hear the Carpet brush head attachment is really excellent but I am looking for feedback.

Most of the jobs I do are in high rise buildings and some of them do not have elevators. The cfx is light enough to carry up the stairs but I wonder what you guys are using?

You have high-rise buildings in Seattle without elevators?
Man if you're going to LIE at least tell a good one. Have you heard "a portable can clean every bit as good as a truck mount"? It's an old one but still gets it fair share of play time.

Portables are better than nothing...aren't they?

Way to go! I applaud you finding and under served market and capitalizing on it. You won’t go wrong buying the 360i but I would also consider buying a 10inch crb for your extra agitation. It will give you the ability to do encap in some of the higher floor office buildings. Either way you will do well.
(You could also buy the 360i for the carpets and a cimex for the encap. Best of all worlds if you have the money.)

Absolutely.

If access with a truckmount is an issue then add encap as an alternative to your portable machine asap.

Most carpets you clean will respond well to encap and it is quicker with less hassle.

Well he did leave them a 5 star review back in February................;)

edit: just so you fookers don't take that and run with it he does not appear to be a plant. Website went up/biz started back in april.

Great. In that case the 360i with the brushead will be the best tool for residential. Best tool I have ever bought. Gets used often and makes an incredible difference.

Dont "encap" homes..

Bad for your soul.

The brushhead 360i is a must have for the machine if you plan on servicing slobs.

A crb and a Conway wand would be my suggestion

So selling my truckmount to go over to encap is worth reconsidering?

How about you post a video of yourself explaining the " Where does the dirt and piss go" question...

Might save your soul to see if even you buy in...

There must be some carpet cleaners that use encap for everything and get good results.

I think it is more the ethical.... you know.....evenly spreading boogers and piss around a clients home for their baby to play on

Some people think that is wrong....

I wonder what Chem Drys position is on that

Im curious why you want to go vlm full time?

Just pondering it.

Plus it keeps the expense down of buying and running a truckmount.

Plus the concept I am working on is easier to franchise without the expense of a truckmount.

Chem Dry switched to HWE quite some time ago

not their primary here either.
I know Rodney (whos not a bad guy, just a brainwashed nincompoop) can't fit a Chem-lie TM in his minivans
and I've never seen a Chemlie porty in his vans

I wonder what Chem Drys position is on that

VLM is a niche market not well suited to res .
sure one can be successful
a good marketer and biz man that's a go getter can make money in any large market

Look what Cole did with an army of "porty in a pinto" hack subs

some of us just care more about the quality of our product and what the definition of "clean" is

Screw the ethical part. How about just wasting your time using 20 bonnets per room. I've seen these guys brag about their before/after pics of encapping a residential room. And right next to that pic is another picture of the bonnets they used. It's about 10 dirty bonnets that look like dirty diapers. Just think of the time they wasted.

Screw that again. Just hook up your hoses, whether it be your portable doing a high-rise or tm on a normal residential, spray, suck, and leave. You're done, and you don't have to do laundry for a bunch of dirty diapers

Guerkink's legion of idiots only use one pad per home.

The foam core not only holds hundreds of gallons of soil but good wholesome Christian values too!

If ya gonna be doing HWE, ya better be doing at least a 8 step process to extract boogers and not pressure wash into the back, or ya not gonna be any better than the vlmers out there. Which is 95% of the crap hwe ccers. That being said, VLM is just as ethical as HWE out there..

if you clean right like @Mikey P showed me, then ya doing the world good. On the other hand, if ya clean right like Naturaldry, ya doing the world good. I dont care what anyone says, you can be the best carpet cleaner ethically in VLM. Just do it right. I like doing both do meet my clients preference.
