I have talked to a couple of guys that run these, and they seem to be pretty happy with them. They said they will buy another Steamaction again.

I know....not the answer you're looking for, but hey.........gotta get my post count up!!!

What's their 9900 blower? I see their mid level machines have a 68 series.

Any manufacturer cranking out TM's with blowers that size is OK by me.

I'm running into problems w/ a local competitor running Steam Actions big bad boy TM.

He runs 3 wands all night long without pre-spraying.

His commercial accounts absolutly love him and are intensely loyal.

He can cut anybodys throat and with 3 wands blazing its no sweat off his back.

They are a beast of a machine but you had better be one helluva mechanic. No two machines are the same and there are no wiring schematics. I like John Sales but I would never sell his machines.

One of the locals has a Stealth, I hear when it works it works great.

But I also hear from the local distributor that it gets too hot and they can't keep it running.

They say it can clean from a mile away???

I have a baby steam action a 13/33 nike, I love it for its size it is an amazing performer I don't have a temp guage at the wand yet but I plan on getting one soon to see how much heat it is running. I am always trying to get more heat but for its size my machine gets hot! I learned how to clean carpet with Stealth Fighter and later a Vortex 720 before going on my own, both great machines.

Yeah it ran great, and we treated that thing like crap. I don't know about a mile away we only had 800 foot of hose. It would dual wand with two 400 foot runs. We always used aw29s with it though with 15 foot 1.5 whips it prolly had way more potential then we where getting out of it. The heat on the stealths is insane! I would say the largest would run a mile of hose have you checked out the specs on it? A freaking #9 blower? Sounds like a waste of fuel to me but if you always at least ran two wands it might be worth it.

My experience with our 805 has been even though the machine is capable of running 3-wand easily, I'm still better off sending 3-separate TM's.

Hoses, water, fresh & recovery and personnel are still such a hassle you might as well take separate trucks.

We would have the 805 fully loaded, another box van full of vac and solution hose and another van with two more tech's. Still 3-vehicles.

And if that unit were to go down, you were dead in the water. With 3-TM's you just run dual until a replacement truck arrives to switch out.

He sure does and he wishes he didn't LOL I can't begin to tell you how frustrated those things make him.

Good point. And not to mention that fact that 3 vans can park in 3 different places around the building for better access.

We just picked one up that has a 6014 blower and I think it's got a 68 hp engine. Mitch and Kelly will go through it next week. no hx. Killer flood machine.

We run 4 of the Steam Action machines, All with #5 Blowers what they are called varies. One has the ECM out on it right now, but mostly very few problems.

I asked about Harley here once and got no replies. He's still posting on the other boards. Someone needs to call him and tell him to turn out the lights over there when he leaves.

That local distributor has never said anything good about a truckmount that he doesn’t sell. Him and his old mentor at bridgepoint are the only ones I have heard say bad things about SA.

I want to go out and take a look at the steamaction facility it not too far from me. Someone told me it’s on an old military base or something.

SA machines are a bit spendy and have some quirky heat issues, but the base machine can be fixed and re-engineered to be a good one if you inclined to. Being all Stainless is a plus.

Tech note: if your SA has the heat exchangers located above the engine cylinder exhaust, keep an eye on them, just takes one leak sitting over night and it'll fill a cyclinder...then on start up, you better open your wallet. Just a simple design flaw, same as Blue Barron. Never put a water filled chamber that feeds into an engine above said engine, and doubly so if it's an EXPENSIVE engine.

Likely wore out...it's been over a decade.

I use to maintain a locals Steam Action built in 1986

Likely the 4th engine, 3rd pump, 2nd waste tank, 3rd set heat exchangers, 2nd blower and silencer, frame was rebuilt once and on and on and it is still running. nothing like the original setup though.

Had a friend in the business yrs back. John Franco. Bought a steam action. Was very pleased. Short lived career due to illness.

According to the specs, seems to be a real beast of machines. Saw on his site the school bus truckmount? With an airplane engine of some sort?
