Housekeeping cleaned up as well as they could, but the elevator reeked.
Naturally, Nobody called me for six hours...
I locked it out of service, then flushed the carpet with a strong solution of Hydrocide. Sorry, Mark, Herself has commandeered all my Saigers Cide and I just discovered she got my reserve bottle off the van, lol!

Hydrocide can be left to dry, so I did. The atmosphere in the hallway was thick with vomit smell and although it was MUCH reduced I could not tell if I got it all. Then this old man walked down the hall farting nonstop, like a little Evinrude motoring past. The extra stink only made things worse.

Today I got a call back. Still smells.
They will wipe the walls down but I wonder: what would you do differentl or what would you do next?

You'll need an enzyme deodorizer. There is a lot of body chemistry and food in that stuff, and an enzyme deodorizer should break that down.

Now.

Take of the shroud, fit the head, drop in some hot oxy, dwell, suck it up with the mini head. Pour in clean water, claw back with mini head.

Done.

Pet zone by Bridgepoint works well. Mix it up in a watering can, water the area with it and give it 1/2 hour dwell time, then flush it out. Then spray with benefect and leave on.

I don't know if it can be shut off and left open after a second extraction, or not? But drying would definitely increase your odds of success.

There is a small apt building I clean that had a similar problem. Dog peed in the elevator, don't ask me why they have carpet and pad in the elevator, tried to clean and deodorize and just couldn't do it. No way to lock it out and keep it open as it was the only elevator in the building. Ended up taking the carpet and pad out, cleaned the carpet in the shop and replaced the pad.

Yeah molecular modifier is some strong smelling stuff. After our dog died I cleaned the carpet and went heavy with mm in a few areas. I can still smell it if I stick my face on the carpet. Its been about 6 months maybe.

Probably not a good idea in an elevator.

Acting on Jim’s advice, I used an enzyme based disinfectant and soaked the carpet. I also made sure to jet it into panel seams (I found traces of puke in one) and edges.

30 minutes later I loaded the machine with Saigers Cide I swiped back from U-no-Hu and extracted the disinfectant with it as the rinse agent.

Place smells like a giant daquiri now.

I could not detect puke smell at all, but let the boss know to call me if need be.
