Dave I have noticed the same. It does not always come out.
Sometime I had more success using an Idelible ink remover first. then flush with alcohol and OMS.

sometimes a little peroxide or stain magic first will help

Ramsey has a neutral prespray that also works well but is smells like crap and makes you cough

Dave;

Light-colored Cut piles are the worst for ink & marker stains.

Have you tried our POG on the stains ?

I would NOT use a gel, since they have poor penetration ability.

You usually also need an oxidizer "ring" on the outer edge of the stain, to prevent spreading.

Here is a link to short Jeff Cross article:

other than breaking out the scissors it is hit and miss with the success.

I have used about every product listed get some hel-gel and cyclone and let is sit for a couple minutes and extract.

I had a room covered in permanent marker and tried everything on different sections and the easiest most amazing was the hel gel/cyclone combo. Another section that came out okay but I had to got after again with cyclone was prochem 2 part with citrus gel
