Sun Fading or Area Rug Off-Gassing?

This flooring was just cleaned however you can see a clear darker area under the dining table where they removed an area rug and do not plan to put it back. I am trying to determine if the areas around where the rug was have lightened due to all the direct sunlight under the windows there or if the area under the rug actually darkened due to the rug off-gassing?
In the first photo the lightened area is at the top of the photo and the second photo shows the lighter area to the right side.

that yellowish tinge.. offgassing is my call

*you may have both, off gassing and sun fade. I'd shine a light in a dark corner or in area away from direct uv to try see original colouring

It probably doesn't matter either way. If it was a wool rug without any attached Backing, it is probably sun fading. If it was a synthetic rug with a backing or if they had a rug pad underneath, it may be off gassing.

What’s going to change?
it matters on the walk through, when you prequalify and set expectations with the customer

afterwards is always a shrug of the shoulders, and try not to look like a muppet

No it doesn’t
All that matters is that you see it and point it out
Before you clean

This is a case where the customer wasn't there, and apparently they had they idea that it could just be improved with a cleaning.
if its the breakdown of a cheap backing or underlay (oxidising) then a reducer can sometimes take the staining

I assumed vinyl because off gassing residue would easily be cleaned off of stone or tile. Ever seen short-term stone or tile fading?

Is there a moisture issue?

Some rugs can cause the floor to retain moisture.

On second look at the picture it looks like it could be something they are cleaning the floor with causing a hazy look.

Under the table looks nicer.
