Having trouble getting my burner oil pump to prime. Unit ran out of kerosene and lost prime. I've installed a brand new A2VA 7116 pump and filter. New flex coupler and hydraulic lines. Anyone have experience with these old oilfired units? Pump primed a few seconds on the initial start about now seems to be air-bound.

take you fuel line off and run it into a bucket till the air is purged.

Sounds like air is getting in there somewhere. Recheck all your fittings. If you can run your pump into a bucket, it should be a steady stream with no air bubbles.

Brings back bad memories. If you think oil-fired pump problems are bad, you'll LOVE messing (literally) with failed ignitors and flow switches...at 3am

I had a Prochem 150 back in the day with a kero burner. The only problem I ever had was frequently burning out the thermostat. Other than that it worked well. BTW, Prochem used to tell me it was all my fault for driving over crappy roads, and that no one else was having the problem, LOL. I must have replaced 10 thermostats at my expense before Prochem offered an upgrade replacement which I bought and never had the problem again. Ask me why I don't own a Prochem.
