SW 1150A burner not firing

Hi Steam Way Vets,

I've got an old Powermatic 1150A that I've had trouble with the burner not firing. Of course I bring it to the mechanic and they mess with it for a while and it fires fine. I load up my hoses, wand etc.. and drive 2 hours home. A couple days later.. on a cleaning job or at my house.. it might fire once and then that's it.

It has a ST-6 on it. I can get the burner to fire waving a magent next to the ST-6 but it won't fire when I'm running water through the solution line with a QC open on the end. My thermostat is fine, I've got water, got Kero. I know ST-6's don't last a long long time and I know another cleaner about 40 miles from me has a Powermatic 2100 uses a ST-6, keeps a spare on his truck, and goes to the same mechanic..no problems for him though.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

turn up the psi and try an open sol line

tell me if that makes a difference

BTW, what's the name of the outfit working on your TM?

and have they ever sold and serviced Steamways before?

cause I'm wondering if they know WTF they're doing :roll:
