Alright Rug Snobs,

How would you deal with this?

Small one is urine, the big one is soda.

Give us a step by step attempt approach.

Thanks!

looks like a chinese rug that may have had chemical finish. Probably can take the color out as you suggest but get the crayons ready

I'm interested in hearing what Randy Byran etc would do.

chemically washed to add lustre and soften the colors. Cant tell for sure in the pics but by opening the fibers and see if they have more color inside the 1st 1/4 inch.

Mikey... do not use magic on those spots... unless you want to take the all color out as well. Its pretty much meant for correcting dye blead on to the very light and whiter areas of the rug. What all have you tried on these spots?

Get some of your general spotters out before attempting something to harsh. The soda may need an alkalkine spotter followed by an acid rinse. The urine doesn't look like its going to budge a lot, you may try an alkaline spotter their to start and then move to your reducer of choice for yellowing. This may help fade it out. Although at some point you have to readjust the customer excpectations. The smell may be gone but these types of rugs do not always let go of urine stains so well.
