Tank replacement Day one

Instead of loading Mikes board down with a bunch of pictures We made a link to our web page that will allow board members to go to........

A lot of the pictures you can pretty much tell what is going on.......
I took some of the problem areas in the tank.As you can see most generate from the type or lack of welds........Penetration of the metal also seems to be a problem............


I made it a special point to take some pictures of the new and old hoses...
Note the difference of the fittings on the ends...............

Then note the picture of the rust corroding the inside of the old one........

I strongly recommend that you all check these hose on your equipment........and get the right type of fittings to avoid this...........

So far I am happy how today went everything went real smooth.....
Tomorrow I will start working on hooking it all back into the system.....

this is a picture of the new float and what is left of the old

There is really no door on the tank but there is a approx 5 inch hole on the top

this hole has a plate that the float hooks to and then bolts to the top

will get that picture tomorrow ...

there is nothing in the tank that you will ever need to get to.......it is sealed up pretty tight.........

might be hard to tell from the pic but it is a pretty stout float

What if the coils in the tank leak anti-freeze, how would you fix it?

Don't know but I can tell you there ain't no getting in there...........

Glad your switch is going pretty smooth Jim. The new float has a shorter arm it looks like. That will strengthen in the wave's while driving.
