Start with a patent search and set up your provisional patent to start at the date of your first sale. Then you'll have one year make enough cash (up to 20K) and to get your ducks in a row for your patent.

It's hard to find manufacturer for a short run to get started. It starts with your choice of materials. Can it just be whipped out with a water jet? For Instance.

After you go through several prototypes and at least a year of on the job testing.

Then finalize your cad drawings for your manufactorer search.

I'm going through this same prosess.

It takes a long time and money to bring something to market.

Then the crap shoot begins.

one step process?
the initial treatment to re-liquify the urine requires some dwell time.
how does your device address this?

I find that communication is the key to the client understanding sub surface extraction.

I show them the flashtractor and explain that it is used to extract flood water from padding.
and then I show them my watering can and explain that I have to treat the problem where it exists, in the padding.
I also tell them that sometimes a water ring or some yellowing will develop when the area fully dries and to let me know so I can eliminate that problem .

Didn't Kelly? from steam action have a prototype of a tool like that? I remember seeing a tool they made..Maybe STEVEC aka Steve Cressall of Utah could shed some light on it...?

From my limited research,

Patents now can go by date of invention for ownership.
So, it can be a little sticky. This is also why you need to document your invention. (dates and photos of progression)

Soon ownership will change to date and owner of patent.
(This can allow others to patent other people's inventions.)

Still do your patent search, test your prototypes (don't let others test them until the rights are secured) Gage interest (Like here) and get the rest of your ducks in a row (marketing., distribution, payment systems etc...)

Jeremy from the Encap Store had one at Mikey Fest with spray jets around a frame and a large spray jug. There was no extraction involved in his unit. I thought it was kinda cool. All of sudden, Rob Franks comes out and tells Jeremy that he already has a patent on it

I think anyone who has used a waterclaw has thought of the idea of having jets around the edge that penetrate and spray the soln in while the claw extracts. That challenge is how to make the jets such that it can be used on thick carpet and thin carpet. Also, the jet needles need to be able to be changed out when they dull so they can't be expensive. I was telling the guy at MF in Nashville who was demoing the Flashextractor what needs to be, guess they never did anything with the idea.
