After seeing the absolute superiority of using a good grout brush on a poll over any other mechanical scrubber I went to order some more of my favorite and realized it's not currently available.

Looking for other options has me frustrated...

Here's my take on the current offering's of grout brushes.

Super aggressive, will eat caked kitchen goo better than butter knife but will damage many porcelains and all stone. BE CAREFUL.

-------------------------------

Demon/Sharks
Way too fat. One has a center strip that is too soft , the other is too stiff. Dont bother.

---------------------------------------------------

left over from the Gary Heacock days. Non tapered and non swivel. Horrible.

-----------------------------------------------------

Top two or three option, bristles are a bit too soft and it's over priced through dealers but a good deal on Amazon

Too stiff and the swivel is too tight. Has a hard time staying in the line. (Artistic Solutions or Magnolia mfg comes in many colors)

My absolute fave. Perfect in every way but the swivel pivot is crap, needs a screw drilled through to hold it together. The bristles will wear flat long before the swivel ever wears out if screwed together. Use to be available at Home Depot for $5.00 or Amazon but currently unavailable. Mfg by Unger Brushes

Is there a brush that you like that is not one of the above?

Blue Carlisle is my absolute best brush...Can get them as low as $10 a brush if you buy 10 in bulk...Last for a long time...In 16 years, I tried others and nothing compares...

The "metal" brush is great however it is restorative...Make sure you charge as such for those impossible grout lines that are permanently discolored...Or removing color sealer...

Not bad Sam...I still have a couple left that I ordered from a year ago...I think that's it! Good Deal! It appears they went up a $1
Go to interlink and see how much they charge...LOL

I tried the green brush your referring to...It's better than the other fat brushes especially @ $5... but the blue Carlisle has unique lively brush tips for thin and thick grout lines with better action for scrubbing...

I wish the guy who designed the shark brushes would now clone the Carlisle blue brush...He's always online, and loves getting high...LOL But seriously the blue Carlisle has been my favorite even at a higher cost...And I'm Jewish...LOL

So you're saying a brush on a stick is clearly better than a 175, the new OP with that fancy brush, and a CRB with stuff brushes?

Have you tried this one. It might be the same as the Green Unger brush but in gray.

Looks like a copy of Dave's shark brush, but without the pretty colors.

I use the Shark brush and have been happy with it. People give me a bad time because I scrub all the grout, but I've learned I don't like to do things twice. Most of the time I could probably get away without scrubbing, but I don't take the chance.

Also, let me tell you a story about pot-head Dave. I once broke one of his brushes at the swivel joint. I told Dave about it in a passing coment. Dave immediately sent me a new brush, a new brush stick and one of every single brush in his line-up. I love the dog hair remover brush, "The Grime Reaper", as seen in use in the link below.

Thats what we call a VBJ Damon.

I'm sure you were a teemfs mod when that happened.

Im going to guess you have not tried many other brushes. The grey one above is very different than Dave's.

I'm not doubting you, but how is it different. i've never felt lacking with my current brushes. but if there is a better one out there, I want to know.

the "chisel" is much steeper, the bristles are just the right stiffness and the over all brush is much thinner. Daves are far too thick imo, it takes too much effort to stay in the lines.

So the trouble with staying in the lines might not be my fault? :)
