unless kids are unnecessarily living in squalor, a "pet rescue", or a full on hoarder situation I didn't pay much attention unless it inconvenienced me like clothes and shit all over the carpet to be cleaned

Had a older lady with lots of medical problems who was also dog foster person and the dogs constantly pissed on here only room with carpet. Piss had soaked through the rug that was over the carpet. When i moved the rug it was dark yellow and there was black sludge that she believed was car oil...I made the mistake of not leaving. Took the rug back and kept soaking it and squeegeeing it and yellow kept coming out. Also last winter went to a house that had dog piss on the walls and every inch of carpet and I cold barley stand in the house because my eyes were watering from how strong the dog piss odor was. told that guy he needs a restoration team to come out.

Oh and had a crazy cat lady that lived in a very nice apartment complex and I could smell the cat piss from 30 feet down the hallway. Told her straight up there's no fixing this with my portable and that the place is probably not giving her security deposit back and will have to rip everything out. She looked like she wanted to kill me but the truth hurts sometimes

Nothing surprises me anymore in regards to "how some people live".

I remember when our crew arrived (on some job sites) there were toys on the floors; slippers and shoes all over the floors in the bedrooms, along with underwear, etc......in others. Despicable. I just don't get it.

I knocked on the door....and heard
A faint "come in"....there she was in a lazy boy chair wit Kleenex up to the arms of the chair! And cockroaches like wallpaper...my helpers eyes were lik dinner plates!
There Was green velvety "fuzz" growing on everything...as you walked on the kitchen floor the cockroaches crunched under your feet.
As our eyes got used to the darkness we began to see that she had no legs...at all! And half of the Kleenex pile were syringes.
My partner in a panic sez....." come on

We had a customer call us up 10 months after the cleaning to complain that the carpet was still wet. I went out to look at it and it was 100% urine soaked. They has 5 dachshunds who had urinated on every square foot of carpet in their living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms and hallway. It had even wicked a few inches on several wooden furniture legs.

They had pulled up the carpet in a couple of areas and the urine had completely de-laminated it. The carpet was stretched in over pad on a concrete slab and there was no latex left in the carpet at all.

As a joke, I sent a sample of it to a friend who ran the ASCR lab to have it analyzed. I am glad I did because I ended up having to send that report to 2 insurance companies and an attorney.

Either they were trying to get us to replace their urine soaked carpet or they were that much in denial that it was a problem. My bet is the latter

every day! Almost every house I go to is cleaner than mine! Older, high income couples. I hardly ever clean dirty carpet. Just glad my customers never see my house!
