The Kajillionaire called...

or rather his CEO of House Management did.

After spending $6500 to have their estate cleaned three weeks ago, a party was had to celebrate the Mr's 80 birthday. 90 some odd guests had full run of the place with no orders to remove shoes or leave the vino and dinty mores off the $900 a yard silk carpets.

I got a call at 8PM on Friday from the CEO in a full panic asking how soon could we get out to deal with the "disaster"..

I didn't hear from him over the weekend so I called Monday morning. He was still in a bit of a panic but hadn't been able to talk to the wife to see when they would be gone for 24 hours so we could be snuck in to perform our magic. He mentioned blotting some of the areas with dry micro fiber towels but was afraid to do anything more. I suggested that now that the carpet and any possible soiling was dry, that they vacuum the carpet with their power head Miele in a north/south east/west pattern and not the normal hard surface attachment that they use.

I got this later in the day..

Hi Mike,

The vacuuming helped SO much. Practically everything looks back to normal again. That protector works like a charm.

No need for an emergency visit. See your team next month.

THANK YOU!

So cute.

Speaking of silk carpets. How do clean these things? Like wool? Had a long time customer call the other day. Had new carpets installed in their house a year or so ago. Said it was silk. Said she had to buy a special vacuum and all. I told her I would get back to her when I found out more. So is this something I want to touch or what?

Sincerely,

Synthetic and wool IICRC certified master textile cleaner. Lol.

I'm pretty sure it more about what wand and chemicals to use.

Mike's always taking about using the right wand for the nap to look good.

I think his Mach 12 with glide with no holes or slots.

But he'll chime in and tell you soon.

I'm tired of hearing about FPA. I was seriously wanting to offer it. I do have customers that would be interested. But Jim was like "You don't have any interior decorators too sell it to in your area". PFT. Whatever.

If it's wall-to-wall carpet it's probably smartstrand "silk".. It's just poly.. Probably needed a special vacuum cuz she couldn't push her old one.

That's what you told her on the phone and she said no pretty sure it's "silk". So I said I'll get back to ya. She also said she would call the retailer and ask. Lol
