Any of you guys been to see the annual Berkshire Hathaway meeting? Amazing what these two have been able to put together. Buffet is 85 and Monger is 92 and the spent 6 hours fielding questions. The detail they had in their minds to answer questions was amazing.

My dad gave me money to purchase shares when I turned 18 in the summer of 1984, at the time I had no clue what Berkshire did but learned quickly since each shr was trading at ~$1200, yesterday they streamed the shareholder Q & A for the first time ever so I watched every minute & now regret never making the trek to Omaha to attend in person, most meetings simply are a waist of time even my beloved Tesla shareholder meeting is a borefest but I go anyways.

Warrens command of every detail of every business that they own is stunning & watching Charlie chomp on peanut brittle was classic.

What is sad is the guys like Chavez that live a couple hours away have never been. Two of the most amazingly intelligent business men on the planet---actually 3 as Mr. Microsoft was there also...

I spent nearly 21 hours driving one way, and it was worth it.

I also got to spend a couple days with my son which is pretty awesome also...

Its not open to the public, you need to be a shareholder & they verify everyone prior to allowing entrance, in the annual report they provide a form to fill out to receive credentials if you plan on attending.

Looks like its 1741 miles & 32.3 hours for me to drive there, I plan on going next year before its too late.

At Tesla's they have a separate overflow room for people who forget proxy material or for spouses who may not be listed on the brokerage account & they can watch a live video feed, security is very tight & strict.

If you are an owner of stocks and you don't have Berk stock----hmmm

The open ness of Warren to answer questions and the way the whole event was put on was impressive. The trade show was totally different from the trade shows I have been to because it basically is just a showcase of the different companies.

The billions of net worth these guys have systematically created is amazing.

Long term good luck with your Tesla stock.... Jim, I am sure you disagree but I do not see their business model scaling. but what the heck do I know.

Mikey/Fred as trade show promoters I think you would get a lot out of the event.

Anyone interested in seeing the most successful team of business managers in history, put this on your bucket list. I don't know how many more years it will go on, Warren is 85 and Charly is 92. Buy a few shares you can get the b shares for about 150 I think. Hotel rooms triple in price for the weekend in the area.

Charly had a thought that really struck home.

In order to win an argument you need to know your opponents side better than they do....

Tesla goal is not to grow to be the size of GM, VW or Toyota, they don't want to make millions of low margin mediocre oil consuming cars, they are growing 50% on average every year & are expected to produce 500k in 2020 (this is no easy task).

Keep in mind Tesla mission is to..."to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport by bringing compelling mass market electric cars to market as soon as possible", I would argue they have already succeeded for the most part educated & introducing EV's & forcing traditional OEM's to offer electric, just look at the decline in sales of other luxury sedans & the Model S is even outselling the Mercedes Bens S class.

I am sure you are aware Tesla recently revealed their Model 3 & has 400k reservation holders that put down $1000 deposit. I would prefer if Tesla stayed a profitable premium mass market manufacture & not like GM that pukes out lousy products mainly to keep their factory's open & to meet pension obligations.

Can you image, over a 100,000 people waited in line for hours to put down a $1,000 deposit for the Tesla Model 3. A car they never saw, had no official specs for and would not be released for sale for a least a year and a half. Add to that, another 300,000 plunked down a $1,000 deposit for the same car after the car was shown online. I would say they are starting to scale. But you need to remember just because a company has great products does not necessarily mean the stock is a great buy or not.

I've watched a dozen videos of Charlie Munger on YouTube

My personal favorite is an interview conducted by CNBC s Becky Quick at Michigan University I believe

Warren is far more dynamic and congenial than Charlie but they are the rare investor that hold long term

Cost Averaged in on B shares at $78

This point is key, I rearranged our Zion Canyon family vacation to be in Vegas to be in line to make our reservations at the Tesla store (even though as an owner we are promised priority), the store expected 20 people to line up instead almost 200 were there before the store opened, other stores in California had 1000 in line, as mentioned none of us had seen the car & we aren't expected to take delivery until 2018. Demand has far exceeded even Tesla's most optimistic projections, they are scrambling to ramp up production as we speak.

I have never recommended the stock & have shorted at times, Tesla Motors & TSLA can decouple at times.
