This hasn't arrived yet, but little multi directional shotgun mic going to give a try.

Wireless work too but not as much "in the moment recording"

You need a special cable to hook to cellphone. Can't remember the name off top of my head but I list it in my videos description of equipment used past year. Got that off Amazon.
