Thermal well

Over the last several weeks, I have been working on installing the thermal wells to correct the problem of the temp gauge not working on the Vortex's. I would install new sensors, and within two weeks they would quit working. Several weeks ago, I had a leak on one of the JIC fittings caused by dissimilar metals used in the building of the Vortex's. The leak shorted out the thermal coupler connection to the heat control for the diverter valve, it would close and over heat the oil and water. Since the gauge did not work there was no way to know what the operating temp was. If I had a crew running this truck, it could have been a very bad situation.

I put thermo wells on all of mine ...I never understood how they could think that the probes can handle the temps and pressures.........not to mention that if you have a problem that it is much easier to remove the probes with out having to worry about the water and shut down.....

there is a place here in town that sells them for large ovens and boilers....

also Grainger has them..........
