My Maxx470 is about a year old now, and I want to start doing some modifications now that its out of warranty.
The first modification that I would like to make is I want to set the machine to run at max temp all the time, and only go to divert when I want it to be on divert via the switch or pump switch. I would also like to remove the thermostat dial and go to a manual dumping of the water out of the water box. Like, can't I just install a fitting with an automotive style of thermostat that is set to open at like 160 degrees and have a line right to the tank to pull a gallon out of the box or so to keep the water box at the right temps.
I think this can be done relatively easily, but I am not sure how to manage the Auto Diverter. If I can figure out how the relay works on the thermostat, I could just bypass it and remove it all together. These T-Stats that HM uses are junk, absolutely fail so easily its not even funny.
