Once I nicked a knuckle while I was cleaning the back carpet in a minivan and couldn't figure out why this red stain I was scrubbing on was wicking back immediately.

Took me longer than it should have to figure it out.

I think the key is to not stop. The momentum keeps you going and keeps you from thinking about WTF you are doing working your ass off so much. Thinking is what gets you in trouble.
