What would be your steps? I cleaned it and I want to see if my steps were the same as you driveway rug suckers

I gave myself 30min because I knew he couldn’t pay a rug shop price at this govt apartment I cleaned at today.

I wouldn’t.

Not because I think every rug needs immersion cleaning or you’ll be consigned to perditions flames.

I don’t recommend cleaning things with serious dye or texture damage.

Call me a misanthrope, but I have seen too many good cleaners blamed for damage because “it wasn’t THAT bad”, so I have nearly zero trust for people who ask you to do something like this.

No, that’s not fair....

I have zero trust in them.

Even if it doesn’t go to court, social media abuse is always a risk.

I'd be surprised if this guy knew what social media was.

Now a soccer mom driving a stupid oversized SUV with a real short hair cut??? I'd definitely deny that one.

funniest 1 I saw was a woman rung me up as her dog had peed on her antique rug that she'd bought years ago as a backpacker seeing the world

I turned up couple days later and she'd dragged it outside onto the deck because of the smell. At which point it had seemed a good idea to drop into the pool...

BOOOOO!

It's bled like crazy and is dry. How would you get the bleeding out in 30min before you cleaned it?
You're not going to get the dye bleed out. Nobody is going to get it out, period. Especially on a budget. I usually advise customers to put their trash in the trash.

Don't forget the type of place I was at. Budget government apartments. They just want their place to be unique from all the other apartments around. He asked me if I could do anything to make it better and I told him I'd try but I won't work any miracles nor make it look new again.

The whole rug looks brighter, even though there is a pink around the border still, and the fringe is back to normal

I try not to do those types of jobs. The problem is when you do a guy a favor, it bites you in the ass.

If I seriously wanted to improve it in a driveway

prespray heavy with a not safe for wool prespray (still wouldnt go nuclear)

175 it (it will bleed more)

pressure wash/blast it until it looks "ok with your good eye closed" then dry stroke

I've said it before that I clean for all types of customers. From the government housing and trailer parks up to the mansions and courthouses

Oh I see now my brother. Looks great. Have a blessed day.
Once again, I only gave myself 30min on this rug for a reason. I had 5 other jobs after this one today. I think it would've looked much better, had it flushed it for an hour later.

It's not so much how wealthy or poor they are, it's more a state of mind. I had a customer a few years ago that had a rug water damaged from a flood in their condo. I don't do contents restoration, I am working for the strata. The guy says he will pay me directly, so I bring it to the shop, dry it, clean and restore it and redeliver it. He accuses me of tearing the rug. The rug had an obvious tear when I picked it up. I didn't make any notations because it was just an old rug. Eventually, I just told the guy to go pound sand. Got paid for the strata job, never got paid for the rug.

Well in that case I would have done the rug for free and had the customer pull hoses the rest of the day. 😂
