Everyone one sooner or later pays for some one ignorance...

if a 80 year old ..120 pound man says the coffee table is heavy...test it first before you grab it like it may weigh a ton....this will save you from picking things up off the floor across the room.....

the people who make the most money marketing..are the ones selling there marketing material

not all dirt is created equal...

how to spell lose...

there is no silver bullet....

most want instant gratification..

apparently some can talk on there cell phone and pee at the same time..

95% of the time you can find the exact same thing at a cheaper price...

this industry gouge the very people that support it...

there are more liars then honest people..

if it is not tied down...nailed to something..set in concrete or bolted to the truck
Marty will lose it..( I would of added tethered but after the gas cap incident that one went out the window)

no matter how hard you try to tie it down ..some how it will come loose in the back of the truck...but no matter how hard you try to manage your hoses..some time during the day they will create a knot that you could lift the titanic with....

stay away from the hype..could cost you money that you don't need to spend......

carpet cleaning is a mind dead job....

don't pee in a empty bottle of 40 volume peroxide
one mis-calculation and it will leave a halo that will itch for a long time.

one big job won't pay your bills.....

spotting kits are a waste of money...

the machine does make a difference.........get over it already

feel free to add yours...............

Give them a discount on the next job (you know the one they say they are going to get you if you do this one cheaper).

The more they talk about referring you the less they are going to.

get paid before you leave

fill your chems when you get back not "before" you leave the next day

replacing your hoses way too early is better than a second too late

pretty women always get the little extras done cheaper/free

stick to the distance limit you set that you will travel to clean carpet

Always upsell, every job, you never know who can afford or who wants what.

Always run your gas tank on the top half if not third of the tank. It's tons easier on your fuel pump.

Put a predetermined amount in the bank during good times.

Don't fart against the wind.
However, if you are a carpet cleaner, you'll probably do it anyhow.

Which one of those is Hoodie's Grandma?

PS If Jim had given me a gas cap with large enough spines on the tether, I wouldn't have lost it!

your best referral sources are NEVER the ones that expect/want a "referral reward"

spell check rooles!

a nik in the wall or a scratched hand rail is much easier to handle sooner then later

WHEN you damage something, it's wise to remember customers will likely be happy with 1/2 of what you are prepared to give them, so let THEM name the price.

your favorite customers don't call often enough; PITA's do.

it's fun to play "guess how old I am" with customers... until the age they guess starts getting uncomfortably close to your age, then you stop playing.

Always walk behind the truck to make sure the back door is closed before you take off. I had to lose a nice rotory scrubber and a vaccum before I learned that.

ALWAYS remove the funnel after topping off the oil on your slide in engine. NEVER tell yourself I will put dipstick back in at the first stop so the funnel drains.

Never ask when a female client is due?

If they say bedrooms are small just a couple of swipes, they are 300 sqft.

While scheduling if they tell you the dog never pisses inside it is a rat hole.

Never budge on price when they mention a house keeper can let u in because they will be shopping. Boy that ticks me off by the way

Call when you are finishing up I will be close by means GO GET SOME FREAKIN LUNCH while you wait.
