I was cleaning some chairs and carpet at this place tonight. As I was looking around I noticed their (tile)? was disgusting.

How hard is it to clean something like this?

Could you do it with a 175 and some stripper or is it much more complicated than that?

You could but it wont be easy.

That is VCT ( vinyl composition tile) and its care is an art form.

You do not want to use your truckmount or portable to clean up the slurry for one thing.

Do a search for "vct" here and you should get the gist..

If you don't normally do vct strip-n-wax, just don't even try it.

Unlike the above posts,I say it ain't rocket science but it might be a good idea to learn doing a ride along with someone that does it on a regular basis. Here's a boo at one of mine.
This is a stripped floor:

This is the same floor stripped and finish applied

Any questions?

It's very cheap for the equipment to do this type of work...... The down side of it is every janitorial company legit and illegal bid it for peanuts which in the end isn't worth it...... I myself haven't stripped and waxed a floor in my life..........I get tired just watching them........ A lot easier ways to make a buck IMHO.......

If your like @Willy P and can get the money out of them, more power to you.....

Looks amazing. Great job.

What equipment did you use for this one?
Black stripping pads (3m), 175 rotary, big ass shop vac, mops and pails, doodle bug and putty knives for edges, after a neutralize and rinse, a red pad with the 175 again. After a spell to cure, an 1600 rpm burnisher with a white polishing pad. $1 a foot, but they get what's paid for, not a hack slop and wax.
