I already have the latest and greatest MacBook Pro, and now time to update my windows based pc.

I would use in the field once in a while and when I travel. This is not meant to be a web surfer unit, need to run Xactimate, quick books and some games I like to play.

What do you have and what do you like and dislike about what you have.

Looking for at least 15 inch screen and at least 512ssd with the best quad processor available.

Right now I’m leaning to get a Microsoft surface book 2 with the i7 and 1 tb hardrive.

The only computer that i bother with is workstation. Doesn't mean its better but i prefer computer that supports developments. Im sure the laptop ya looking into will work just fine.

I switched my company away from PC's to Mac's a decade ago. Never saw a need to go back. If you still have a need to run Windoze you can always run it in Fusion or Parallels. That's what we did in the beginning. But as time moved on we've found ways to run everything on the Mac OS. Most biz software these days is subscription/cloud based, so everything becomes OS neutral. I've loved running our company on Mac's way more than dealing with the perpetual IT headaches and constant replacement cycle we had with PC's. With PC's we were always grappling with some kind of meltdown. With Mac's they just keep running day after day after day. They're more intuitive to work with. And our staff love 'em too. :)

I am looking for the same thing. I love my Surface Pro but it tends to bog down when I have a decent size Xactimate estimate open. I think it is all about the RAM for Xactware. Let me know what you find. I am currently looking for the best laptop with the least bloatware. Someone recommended asking gamers what works best for them...

I have a HP Pavillion laptop I got on sale at Office Depot. It's an i7 with 1 TB storage and 8 GB Memory. It's light and works like a champ.

There is laptop workstation or think pad... I just prefer window professional, minimum 32gb memory i7 or xeon, CAD type GPU. The reason for these machines is because it process data better such large data in DB or vectors... It just what it is designed to do. It is not necessary but it is nice to have. Any other computer architecture are really meant for streaming, and low data GPU procssing which is great for some photoshop, streaming and gaming... It all about architecture to do what ya need to do.

My cfo #wife does the toshiba laptop thing, which she does all you say. QuickBook can’t be run on our iMac without monthly subscription. We are Apple fans and have everything you mentioned, including phones and watches, but the one device for accounting is the laptop.
