California....they would have stopped you in the driveway.

it is not exactly legal here but if it is not that dark then you can get away with it.....I did the UD and drove around for about 3 years with it that way before I sold it....I think this is going to stand out to much and raise a few red flags to the rookie cops trying to make a good impression

Maybe they will give you the benefit of the doubt since you get the desert sun. ???

you would be surprised at how much cooler that keeps the cab of the truck in the summer....

but they don't care.....they figure if you can't stand the heat ......get out of the kitchen...

jim, what % did they put on the front?? I have always wondered what 50% would look like on a windshield, yours looks like its at least 35% or less. I love dark windows but if you do it in utah, better be prepared to pay a few tickets. I currently run 35% on my front side windows which is illegal here but not dark enough for me to be messed with. 43% on the front sides is the limit. I used to run 5% on my old truck, probably got 3 or 4 tint tickets, I do alot of coyote hunting in the hi deserts, its too dark in those situations.

30% on the windshield.....

thats pretty dark, 50 would be the best choice I think. those trucks do need something on the windows because they are like a fish bowl. those big windshields keep the glass companies in business I can't tell you how many times I had one cracked after it was only a month or even a couple weeks old, heck one time I drove one of the NPR's back from the inspections place and they replaced the windshield in order to get it to pass, on my way back I picked up a nasty rock and cracked the brand new windshield.

Our fines here for illegal tint it $287 per window... Yes, even those small triangle ones. 35% is considered legal. Vans and trucks need 35%on the front doors, and can black out the rest. If the cops not a dick, he'll only tag you for 1.

No tint on windshield in WA...

HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN WASHINGTON?

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Washington, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the film only.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 24% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 24% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 24% of light in.

HOW REFLECTIVE CAN THE TINT BE IN WASHINGTON?

Similar to sunglass lenses, some tinting film contain metallic elements that help in reflecting incoming light and reducing the glare and heat generated by visible light.

Front Side Windows Must not be more than 35% reflective.
Back Side Windows Must not be more than 35% reflective.

OTHER WASHINGTON RULES AND REGULATIONS

Restricted Colors The tint color(s) of RED AMBER YELLOW are not legal by state law.
Side Mirrors Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.
Certificate Requirements Manufacturers of film need to certify the film they sell in the state. Ask your dealer if they are using ceritified film.
Sticker Requirements The sticker to identify legal tinting is required between the film & glass on the driver’s side window.
Medical Exemption State allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details about the specific terms of the exemption, consult your state law.

We bought a used diesel van a couple years ago with heavy tint. I took it on myself to peel it off before my son Justin could stop me. He was pist!

I felt it made it hard to safely use the mirrors and I didn't want him backing over a kid....like his!

All you need to do now is throw some 24's and spinners on that bitch.

All kidding aside, my personal vehicle is much darker than that and I used to get pulled over quite often for it. I haven't gotten pulled over for it for a couple years so maybe the law changed here. Never got a ticket for it. I always wanted to remove them because it was too dark at night but I never get around to having it done.

in utah a tint ticket is about 50 bucks, and its only the highway patrol that will mess with you, the city cops could care less.
