What make and model are you all running and how often are you rotating?
How long are they lasting you?

I have been going way too long between swaps and only get about 30,000 miles out of mine
Jim says he rotates every 1000.

I replaced my tires in Feb 09 and went 6000 miles before noticing significant wear on the outside edge of the front tires. Took it in to have them rotated and the shop asked if I had wrecked it. Said the front end was out of line pretty bad. I went back two months after having it realligned and it was out a bit again. Seems the thing must be hard to allign?

yes, the front ends on the UDPOS is a joke.

Don't even bother with alignments.

Get your tires well balanced and rotate them every other day.

Because of the way UD made the front end on these trucks..the only way to align the front end is to take it in and have them bend the frame......this is only a crap shot until it is right....and could be quite the process......the tires I am using will give you close to 100 K mile easy...but you have to take them in and get them rotated.....I do mine every 1000 to 1500 miles...it only takes my mechanic about 30 min to do it and it is over....I don't have the interstate wobble that most have because the tires are always sitting flat on the ground not on the worn edge......the rotation is always free and saves me from dropping $500 bucks for new fronts every time I turn around.....1000 to 1500 does not seem like a lot of miles.. but our roads have a natural slope to the right for water run off..(yes we do get water)...and you always have to hold the wheel to the left a bit...add that with the front ends that UD makes and 1000 to 1500..keeps them in top shape....

My local and only Diesel mechanic (who will be closing his doors in two weeks, I'm ******) says they have installed steering dampers like you'd see on a motorcycle on some of these with success to this issue

Damn I was going to call around and find someone to align mine tomorrow, so I should automatically expect it to be a problem. Something has to be done with mine, not only are the tires wearing badly on the outside, but the whole truck shakes violently from 55 to 65 mph and is getting worse.

I do work for a Tire Factory store. I wonder what they would charge me.
