Tm fuel usage problem.

I have two tcs chiefs.
The fuel pump is mounted on the frame of machine. This one burns 1.3 gallons of gas an hour.

The other chief we mounted the fuel pump under van close to propane tank. This one uses 2.5 galllons of gas.

What could make this difference? Fuel pump placement or something else?

Same machines if u have seen a tcs then u know where the fuel pumps located.

How did you get those fuel usage number?

Same engines, 24hp hondas ? are they turning the same RPMs? is one fuel injected the other carbed?

Don't know the consumption problem, but I know my 2003 Genesis burns between 2.5-2.75, carberated. I log the hours on every fillup. To check the fuel burn, fill up close to a decent job, run your TM, and fill up again after the job is done. Hours devided by gallons....or the other way!

Check the spark plugs on the heavy consumption engine.

Look for black deposits that indicate a rich mixture.

If you find that . . .

the fuel pressure may be high, or the carb flooding.

Note: 1.3 GPH sounds about right, depending on RPM levels.

Same enginea. Some times when I start the honda fuel sprays out the side of the engine. Spark plugs are new and no black deposits. It has 488 hours. The one that doesn't burn much fuel has 3100 hours

Doesn't that thing have a propane burner? I would not use it and take it in asap(or fix it yourself)!! The fuel has to be going somewhere..
