Hello,

Is a van wrap a waste of money if you are a O/O in a large metropolitan area? (Little chance of brand recognition)

Or is a a sound investment contributing to the dog and pony show we put on? Floorprotection, corner guards, uniform etc...

Or do I want a wrap for myself and my ego?

" Elmer what's that van doing in Mary's driveway?"

Or..

"Oh look Elmer, Mary is getting her carpet cleaned, go get a card.."

  1. Wrap as opposed to vinyl lettering?
  2. Or some sort of advertisement, brand etc.

Most wraps are too busy and the important information is drowned by the "noise" of beautiful pictures, ocean scenes, crawling babies etc.
A wrap can be done well, most aren't and a well designed lettering will do as well for substantially less $$.

As per having one- Worth every penny. Will pay for itself in a short time. And since it represents your company, make sure it is done well.

It depends if you want to impress your fellow carpet cleaners on the forums, or be smart in your business and put the money in other places where it belongs

My first vinyl lettering, I was debating if it is worth it or not.
The day it was installed and on the way home, I stopped at a gas station. A lady came out of her car and asked for my business card. The vinyl cost $700.00 the job was over a thousand.

That kind of ended the debate for me.

With Matt???
Touch Wood, that debate may take a lot longer :winky:

Spot graphics are the way to go over a full wrap IMO. Typically it will get a clearer message across and will be much cheaper...unless you're van is old, beat up, and rusting out then maybe you do need the wrap to cover that crap up.

The "dog and pony show" items are non-negotiable, if you're not already doing that stop what you're doing and place some orders (pro-tect runners, seal-a-door, duk guards, etc.)

As with most things in this industry, you need both.

The non negotiable items serve a purpose. The dog and pony show includes them and me showcasing them in a sutle way. I'm the pony...

A whole vehicle wrap is not always necessary, lettering can do the same thing at a lower cost. Main thing to advertise is your primary business, phone number and url. People don't read all the other crap.

Apparently, people around here like my wrap, and I know it's attracted attention. When I can raise another 3000 dollars I'll get Brady's van wrapped so we'll match.

Or ... I might wait. I'll be selling #1 sometime this year and buying a new one. I may wait and get both Brady's and the new van lettered instead.

You'd be surprised how many goofballs like me are on the road
I was at my distributor last week and he was installing a brand new Prochem Apex in a Wells Cargo trailer.

He said the guy had 60 apartments to do over Memorial weekend. Man, what waste of machinery.

Splash and dash apartments go for $55.00 around here.

As the forum's ugly duckling, I am repainting my old piggy and then getting it lettered.

No wrap.

That's an understatement....

She's that one big ugly broad who's the best head giver and wild in bed but don't want your friends to know she's rocking your world.... Your van is more a long those lines... :stir:
