I Haven't purchased the vac reel yet or water tank.

Rear layout ?

Side layout: I left extra room between the right side of the truckmount and partition for roomy maintenance plus If I want I can put an extra vlm machine right there!

Going the common route of a masterblend wheelwell style fresh tank

105 gallon tall/skinny round water tank. 23" diameter - 63" tall
Would need a cage to sit in plus bracing above. Easy for me to do. Would build the back side of the water tank cage so I could remove it if work was needed on that side.

this is why I was thinking a bit further back. Gives vlm storage right beside the tm and when I need to work on it gives it a TON of room... maybe im crazy though
takes a little more weight off the front end too

I would definitely want the Everest front of the rear axel. I would then work around that. I would put the recover tank against the bulkhead centered. the water tank just the left of the machine , centered. Creates a more stable truck with the heavies loads centered. You will have some space behind the machine not easily accessed without another door. Storage for stuff rarely used.

Looking at that picture you probably don't have room to put the recovery to the right. I've set up two as described and I really like it. You can push the machine back and get the weight centered.

What kind of hose reel do you have that can sit on the wheel well?

I like pic 3 and 4 but put the hose reel on the right so you have access to all areas of available floor space.

And yes its always nice to work on stuff without being a contortionist.

Keep waste tank pumped out, slide water tank a little towards the drivers wall and machine a little towards the passengers wall while balancing weight assuming water tank will always be full.

Hmm I could install all the bolts Up through the floor put a nut on it then set the machine on top.
Could then set 1/4 marine grade plywood under the water tank... Wouldn't be hard to remove the tank when needed....

It's a fun project to have!

Dustin,
You could get rid of the partition(is it required up there?) and move it forward more.

How do you like the transit?

I see you are in Canada, I'd imagine like Chicago you get pretty crappy weather(snow/ice). Hows it do?

Keeping the partition so I can separately heat the back. Have rear heat and will install a webasto.
Absolutely love the van but when its empty with no weight in the back + terrible factory tires it had issues on snow and ice. Once the mount is in plus actual snow tires it will be solved. Another reason why I want things mounted towards the rear a bit.....

you have to watch things to close to the Everest. you don't want to melt anything. Might be a good thing to add the weights to your layout and bring it to a mechanic to make sure you are not going to be twisting the frame.

Definitely #2 although I hate the Waterwell. I have one in that position in a GMC 3500. Its just too much weight on one side
