do they give a heads up to increase sales before they raise prices or do they just raise them and say here's the new price. Inquiring minds want to know.

As a distributor, I can tell you that truck mount manufacturers, and most companies in our industry, are going to have a price increase starting on January 1st. What we do at our store location is honor last years prices for companies that have quotes for as long as we have machines in stock at 2014 pricing.

Yep, prices will be going up. Most cases 2 or 3%. We do get told about price increases a couple weeks in advance.
