Two elves down

We all know about the pause in business after New Year. This past week I bade farewell to two elves, who found steady jobs near their homes. I'm glad for them; but sorry they needed to find better money than I could provide.

Good youngsters and I wrote sparkling letters for them.

Its always a tough loss but as you said and understandable one. In this business you have to constantly be looking for next guy even when you have a full staff.

I hate losing people except ex gf's, take them nut jobs...

Yep. Well, I'll only rehire if the work volume outstrips two men's ability. Meanwhile, I'll stop taking certain forms of work (like whole house cleanings) which require a crew. It is a great opportunity to refocus the business.
