Looks like you got the best of it, Terje, which is good because you'll be seeing a lot more of it in the years to come.
I also remain unimpressed with Triexta, regardless of the rhino video. Last I checked rhinos don't crap petroleum, and oil is the issue with all of that stuff.
I do hope I'm wrong, because a lot of it is being (over?) sold right now.
Jim, my initial testing was impressive with the smartstrand fibers.. however the water only cleaning did leave alot of oily residues. However the I did some spotting on 3-4 week old furntiure stained dumped on the carpet as well as permanent marker.. on both came out with a simple pog. Mondy I was going to try a prespray and see how the rest cleaned up.
I imagine that the quality of the triexta/smartstrand used is going to be different from division to division within Mohawk as I was testing the Karastan version.
I tend to be too much of a cynic at this stage of my life. What I'm hearing is poor performance in rental properties, but that could also be a problem of low face weight oe improper carpet cushion, to be fair.
Some intial test show it to be as oleophilic, but that will take some more time to know for sure.
Keep us updated with what you find.
I'd LOVE the stuff to be as good as nylon. I just find it difficult to believe it yet.
Don't worry Jim, we are the same way. We have only brought in about 3-4 of the 10-15 karastan smarstrand products because its not a proven industry product yet. I'll let you know what I find.
