Update on efflorescence on slate

Well, I acquired and applied the F9 and it works better than Proschoice acid but the final results suck. 1. I either need more dwell time, but I left a puddle on one tile and it did not work. I am going to throw in the towel, except! 2. I think the thin-set is the culprit. How to cope with that is an unknown. Look at the images and tell me what you think. 3. Straight muriatic acid??

I told the customer I was going to apply straight muriatic acid. If that fails, I give up. I cannot believe an acid cannot erase this shit...unless it's the thin-set with adhesives engineered into it. Does anyone have any insight?

You're only going to make it worse, water creates the efflorescence, acidic or otherwise.

The application of straight muriatic acid will only turn the grout into sand. I would look for another route.
