A customer of mine is inquiring about using this machine in a large fitness facility. Specifically he is considering using it in a room where yoga and other classes are held. I guess it doesn't always smell very nice in there. I did a search here and one thread from 2009 had some info but was looking for more recent experience and comments.

Mop the area with a disinfectant. Get the real problem solved.
But then a again those women can have some real bad farts.

What I recall...it still can present a bit of an off gas such as a ozone generator would.

I really wasn't a big fan of it still with people occupying the area.

But maybe others are having different experiences....

I can't speak about the Titan but we tested an Odorox machine for several weeks. It took much longer to be effective against odors vs an Ozone generator.

Hydroxyl's biggest selling point is you can them in occupied space. I wouldn't. I can still smell Ozone, if I can, his yoga clients might also.

http://mindfulstudiomag.com/fighting-the-bikram-yoga-smell/ This person is using one but also has what appears to be an extensive cleaning program. The Titan will work for the air but will have to be left running continuously to make a difference in my opinion. He would be better off purchasing it rather renting it. The other alternative is to do a shock ozone treatment once a week using the appropriate size ozone generator. Has to be when they are closed and no staff are expected or allowed into the building. Proper cleaning has to be done no matter which device is used.

Thanks guys, I know his intention is to operate the unit only while the room is occupied.

Tell him to scale up what I do for my MIL’s room: Mist spray Saigers Cide and walk out.

A cold fogger just at lunch break and again at the end of the day and there’d be no stink.

I spoke with the owner again this morning. This is a 1600 sq ft room with 3M rubber type flooring that is use heavily for 6 hours or more daily. It is cleaned with a walk behind floor machine with disinfectant daily but generally doesn't smell nice. Any suggestions for an effective disinfectant that is compatible with the 3M floor?

No pictures, I'll try to get some. They are out of town so next time that way I'll stop in.

We have a hydroxyl generating extraction system that has been in use by a customer for about 6 months now.

It has deodorized off-gassing new carpet, and been used extensively on pet and various carpet odors.

It is injected into the cleaning solution since the hydroxyl ions only have a lifetime of seconds ( but is the most effective deodorant).

We are working on a more compact system for pet deodorization currently.

Clorox 360 might be a better option for him. He can rent or buy the Electrostatic spray cart. The 360 product is an antimicrobial not bleach but he can use it daily or rent it once a month.

The nice part is it can be used throughout the gym. He can also get some benefit by letting his patrons know that he cares enough about them to control the germs in his facility.

I could see electrostatic spray as a good addition. Deodorizing, disinfecting.

Richard, what models have you used and what do I need to know?

We own a small one like this.

But if I were to buy again I'd buy ESS. A bigger unit with a longer hose.
