V/AT & PTO owners tip of the week.

When having your transmission flushed/serviced, have the mechanic pull the oil hoses going to and from the PTO and flush it as well.

Mine was full of nasty black crud.

It would be nice if they had a drain plug.

Mikey did you have the tranny flushed or did they drop the pan and change the filter and add new fluid

You shoulda had them put a drainplug in while they had it off...a magnetic one!

There is a reason why there is no drain plug. It forces you to have to pull the pan and do it properly.

If there was a drain plug then you would have hack mechanics

What time frame do you use for that type of service? Or is it each tranny service?

Mike the big jap trucks are the only ones that have a real PTO.
The rest are belt driven.
