Want to know which vacuum cleaner you recommend for your cust. I like the Sanitare 679 which sells for 135.00 and has anybody tried the Sanitare HEPA 10 amps selling for 230.00. It has no bags to full with. Please let me know. Thanks

For commercial carpet nothing compairs to the Sanitaire sc886, sc887, sc888 and the sc889. Me and my family have been using those type of Eurekas for over 15 years and nothing compares when it comes to suction and reliability. Just replace the belts and brushes regularly and they will last forever..

The deal with vacuums is this: will people use them.

Almost any decent vacuum will be sufficient. You absolutely do NOT need to spend a bunch of money on a vacuum cleaner. They all do about the same thing.

What you need to do is educate your clients on the importance of vacuuming.

I have clients that have $700 vacs sitting in their closets that are used twice a month even though they have three shedding dogs, six cats, 14 kids and their filthy friends.

A $75 Bissel Cleanview 2 will do just fine...and if it breaks down after two years...they just go buy another.

I agree with DevilDog. I heard a post some where before that said recommend one they will use. Have them go to Sears or somewhere with a large selection and see what is comfortable to them. If its awkward to heavy or to complicated they won't use it.

I love my Bissell but I am reluctant to recommend them to average home owners because you know dang well they wont check and clean the filters.

Yes a cheap $75 vacuum might be good for a home, but you can't use a cheap plastic vacuum 24/7 for commercial use. Trust me I've tried..

I tell em the $100 Bissell at Walmart sucks just a good as most anything else on the market, and just go buy it and use it.

I'm so disappointed in the quality of vacuums for commercial cleaners that I have just about decided to buy a back pack vac. and pretend it's something special.

Who's that dude in ICS that keeps telling us to do that?

No ... but I'm tired of buying vac's. I have a Rainbow, two Powerflites, a Hoover something or another, and a Kirby sitting in my office. The Dyson I have now is the best of the bunch, but it will eat a berber faster than you can hit the power button if you aren't careful.

Long story. Short version ... friend of the wife set us up, so she could get a shampoo attachment for hers ... the bitch. Anyway, the last thing I said to my wife just before I opened the door was "now remember, we aren't gonna buy one of those things!"

Thirty minutes later the dude had ME buying one. LOL!

Those Rainbow guys can REALLY sell. Brilliant salemen and women.

They might even be able to convince me Brevik is smart.

Well, that thing was bought way back when I was 21 years old, and had a 6 month old daughter who had severe allergies. So, I was young and in the perfect situation to be suckered.

I don't know why all you people think I'm cheap, but the only bad decisions I feel I've made on equipment have been the OP machine, and the first TM I bought, which was Prochem Cub.

The vac booster was a good purchase.

The 2.5 inch hose has been good.

The 2 inch Greenie wand was certainly a good purchase, as is the 1.5

The Castex was a gamble, but jimmy is usually right, and he was this time.

The GLS has been a success.

Oh, there WAS that infamous Rotovac I bought from Sindee. But, Terry lies!

When they ask me

"what's the best vac?"

I tell them the one that gets used.

Then I suggest they buy a Bissel for every floor of the house

You would also do well to try Ben & Jerry's CHUNKY MONKEY ice cream too.
