What do you guys do to set yourself apart from your competition? I was listening to a guy talk about Blue Oceans and such, whether it be an additional service that one company offers that the current competition doesn't. And then when the competition starts doing the same thing (copying) you have to look for another Blue Ocean that separates you again...for a while any way.
Fridge magnets, reminder post cards, leave behind bottles of spotter, booties, speed drying carpets with fans have all now become common place.. And before that it was the Big Truck, rug dye and patch repair, high heat, high flow, granite and stone floors/counters, and now Rotary Extraction seems to be en vogue again since technology has improved so much in recent years.
What's next?? Ozone services? Clorine Dioxide, what the...? Dog walking? Cat sitting? Head stone and grave marker services??
As markets contract and it seems harder and harder to make a buck (especially for new guys). What value added service did you add to your company that helped you distinguish itself from the other hacks in your market?
Thanks,
Capt
