Picked up a fire loss today and one of the rooms has venetian plaster. Any ideas on how to clean this? It was a grease fire. and the affected areas are the ceiling and about 2 feet on top of the walls. Thank You for your response. Luis

Normally I would say start with a chemsponge and remove what you can dry, but it being a grease fire you'll probably not get much, in fact it could smear.

You'll need a good degreaser and start from the bottom up to avoid a drips that might leave cleaner marks.

Keep moisture down to a minimum.

Soot has a way of evenly depositing itself across the surface, I'd check to be sure if more isn't affected than just those areas that are obvious.
