The Steamway single, Rotovacs... What else?

The Steamway had/has a loyal following, probably guys who like to scrub with their wands mostly as its a straight tube glideless sort of thing..
MeAt weren't you a Steamway guy?

Any other flood jet equipped wands you can think of?

Had one
Aw29 and Ti is what we used 97.38% of the time

Steam way wand was a flush monster though.
Run into a joint with a bunch of gum it kicked azz ‘cause with big heat and heavy flush it would cook gum right out

It wasn’t a man killer to push like an unglided Ti.
Jet distortion on many cut piles was its biggest wart .

Along with that the lips of the wand would suck right together unless you had a reinforcing pin in the middle.

Been so long ago I don’t recall that, Ron
It was a pretty beefy wand

Can’t recall if cast or thin stamped sheet metal head like aw29

I still have a couple. I like the concept but they wouldn't pick up very well in the middle depending on the power of the unit and the style of the carpet. Very heavy wand. Probably an internal fit glide would help.

A single jet wand used on a machine with a fuel fired heating system needed flow to activate the burner. Those units really could melt gum right out of the carpet.

The first Steamways and Prochems also used 3/8" solution hose.

What's your theory on why it was distorting? Was it from the jet being too strong in the center or on the ends from possible? Where or was it because there was no glide and sharp lips?

9 flow?

Can I borrow one?
I'm not sure how it correlates to a t or v jet but I remember it putting out what seemed a lot of water. There is some adjustment on the steamway wand to raise or lower the jet. Probably easier to find a jet locally but I could mail you this one. It is brass so probably worn out.

is that like a trick question?
flood jets (FJ) are heavy in the center (from my experience)
..more pressure/more water/more impact.

too...the jet is prettydamnclose to fiber

the slotted thingie on the wand head allows adjustment up or down jet height if needed
(for angle of spray)

I'm told the stock FJ is equivalent to 07 flow

it's a good flush wand, but TEE and VEE jets are simply a better mousetrap than FJ

the floodjet flow twice that of a similarily marked t and v. A 3 flow on the flood jet would be equal to a 6 flow on a t or v jet. On the steamway wand, the single flood jet would cause streaking issues. @doylebloss

Unless the flood jet is severely worn and I can't see I would cause streaking. But that being said I know the flood jets on the rv 360 could easily cause streaking once worn..

Depends on the pressure and the height of the jet from the carpet, I would think. I have had 2 steamway wands and never noticed streaking. The angle of spray is supposed to be aprox 130 degrees. A partially clogged or worn jet will cause streaking.

With the back shield on the steamway wand you cant see the spray pattern.

Isn't that the wand I swapped with you for something or other? It came with Hirise Henry's gear with the little giant and the 2 steamway portables.
