Warranty calls

I get strange calls from warranty companies asking me if I cover an area 60-70 miles away to clean one of their customers who've purchased a stain protection warranty. Usually it's a quarter sized ink spot on a leather couch, a grass stain on a dry clean only fabric, etc.

The last call, the operator was telling me the order was for a leather couch protected with Teflon that had cat urine on it? Pheonix was the company name? Are these legitimate companies. The calls seem strange. They say they are approved to cover up to $XX.xx depending on the issue.

Are these for real? I figure if they are calling a cleaner 70 miles away they must be desparate to find someone.... dumb enough to believe them?

Thanks,
Bill

Phoenix, guardsman, 3m scotchgard are real companies to do warranty work for. Not a scam. We'd did a lot of work for them before. They'll try to get you down in price. It's cheaper to replace the piece then pay a minimum charge.
