I just have a Kinetico system sitting in my office that is plumbed to our rug cleaning pit and to a faucet on the outside of the building for filling up trucks with. The rest of the plumbing in the office isn't softened.

That would probably work fine, if you do not carry on-board water.

If you do carry water on-board, I would just fill from your garage or shop from a standard household softener.
You can purchase a nice home unit from the store, for approx $400. I think it would be a lot less hassle, recharging, etc.

I was looking at this water softener on Ebay for 299.00 21,100 grain good for about 2600 gallons at 8 GPG.
Anyone use the kind of water softeners? I know that supply houses hace them but I like the slightly smaller diameter because it will fit nicely in the van at only 8 inches in diameter.

Keep your sw system as far away from your tm as possible. The salt creep does a number the powder coat paint :/
