More time off to hang with the family?
Entertain visitors?
Head to the mall to spend gift certificates or return ugly socks?
Jammed with work or just a few?
Work on your winter marketing?

If you're a workaholic like me, this time of year drives you nuts..

although I do have 4 jobs lined up this week in Nevada if the weather allows. Scruz has a few as well..

Some rest will do the techs some good, for sure.

I guess a little bit of all of the above.

I wanted to start the week good. So I got to my first appointment sharp right before 8:00. (first appointment in the mornings, are scheduled for 8:00-8:30 every day)

So the man opens the door about a foot wide... "8:30! You supposed to be coming 8:30!"
He is not happy... So immediately I offer with a smile: "I can wait...do you want me to wait till 8:30?"

He says with a not so happy tone: "well, you have to!"

Ok then...

I'm in the hallway.......

Around 8:15 he opens the door, looks out.... Sees me standing there.
Closes the door.

8:27 he opens the door again... And says: "khmm..ummm..you have your card because we're almost ready"

Don't ask, I still don't know what my card has to do with them being almost ready..

Omg....

Now I can start working. Wonderful.

Yes, retired judge. Rich. I'm becoming more and more irritated with rich customers.

Our first job is scheduled 8:45-9:15. Most only hear 8:45 and call at 8:50 wondering where the hell are we. I guess judges hear the later time.

I experience the complete opposite of that.
Most will hear the 8:30 and not the 8:00 they don't want to wake up early.

I'm just glad I own the company and its not my boss screwing with me...because these people don't realize how rapidly prices go up on additional services   so in the end its all good.
They still feel like they are the bosses but really...

*smiles..while in head: "you're paying for THIS mothAfrighter"!*

I wasn't clear Brian... I was wondering out loud how many people are calling on Christmas and New Years day... Where they have nothing better to do than call a service company and try to schedule a job...and be all too eager to say on the phone "we don't celebrate these days.. They mean nothing to us etc etc"..

Well, Winter's here!

Calling for 6-12" of snow by morning. Work every day but a couple shorter days this week. Mel scheduled a big one for Wednesday just this morning. It's right in my small town. Large home...all carpet several pieces of upholstery, king mattress, and she was priming them for Maxim!

It's been really mild so we haven't booked a trip South this year. We will see how it goes. I hope everyone had a great time with fam and friends!

Guys were working most of the morning on a large residential....

I was running errands, looking at carpet problems....then into the office to try and get ready for my January trip South (Puppies in Paradise part 2)

Had to get a new windshield ordered fro the RV as the current one cracked in the cold yesterday and today...

Pizza hut tonight in an hour and half...

Big Day tomorrow with a Church and 4 other residential jobs

next day I am solo as Son in Law turns 30 year of age...and taking vacation time for rest of week, and other worker getting short shafted Pizza gig and having to pull double shift there....

Then huge huge job the night before I head out to Florida....

Been in the office most of the afternoon and evening trying to get prepared some more for the trip....

It takes some work to plan to take off a good amount of time from the biz....

Mobile office is all set up though...new printer installed, new flat screen, other service work...I am road ready with all kinds of computers and pads, gps, phones....ready to rock the road!

And leave the boys behind to do the work :)

We are packed all week. I may even be working on New Years day with the amount of jobs coming in. I was expecting to be slow, but I don't want to slow down after the 1st and not bring this $ in. Especially after spending on Christmas and trip, etc. the extra money could be good. I also have 2 guys out due to Kidney Stones and the other with the flu, so down 1 truck.

I say I want to work New Years Day, but will probably regret the decision waking up after New Years Eve. :hopeless::cool::cool::cool::cool:
