So after turning Ryans down a few times to be their service provider again, my friend (former GM convinced me to PLEASE help him). So we went in and for $400 we cleaned the carpet just around the bars that literally looked like asphalt. Then he called me to do the whole store and again I told him we were just to busy. So he pleaded again for me to help so I told him we would do a restorative cleaning for $800 and then $550 for bi monthly. So it took 6-7 hours for the restorative cleaning and I got paid timely. Then went back for one regular service and was paid timely.

Then last night I sent this heads up
"FYI we got u scheduled for cleaning Monday night. I figured u would want to be cleaned before TDay and that's the only night I could squeeze u in"

And this morning I got this
"Thanks Billy but this stupid Company went back to service channel. Glad I only have a year and a half more to put up with this crap. You all have a Happy Thanksgiving and thanks again"

I called him and said well I expected this to happen because they had let those stores go so long that everyone across the country was charging more to get them cleaned up. So we go in and get it cleaned up and now they are turning it back over to the hacks. He apologized and I said hey I know it's not you and the boys will be glad to not have to clean it tonight

Maybe your friend knows exactly what he is doing...

Not trying to be mean... But he might just be using you to look good standing before his superiors.

I'm pretty sure (like 99.9% sure) that is not the case. I know a few more here that cleans Ryans and was curious if they've ran across this. It's no big loss to me since I didn't even want to pick it back up again. I learned years ago the Big Box restaurants is not where the money is and "that work Waaaay to hard". lol

So Billy,

Are they finding contractors on Service channel or just using the program? Scheduling, quotes, etc?

I have a very large client that uses it(service channel) and from a service providers point of view, it's stupid and a pain in the arse to use. Just giving a quote is a dumb. I understand it's helpful for them(clients) to have everything(paperwork) in one place. It just seems there has to be a better product for them.

They are using the service. Service channel subs it out to anyone willing to do grunt work or splash and dash for about 1/2 of what should be charged.

I swear when we went into clean the carpet around the bars it was so caked with grease your feet would stick to it. I texted the GM (my old GM) and said you should be ashamed of yourself for letting the carpets get like this. I said our old boss would have fired both of us of our floors ever remotely like this bad. I looked the company up on the intranet and there were numerous complaints about the how bad the carpet was and those guests were never going back

Service channel isn't exactly the problem.
Superclean is. Superclean looks for cheap subs. They don't care about quality.
Service channel is Used to verify vendors. I did a few jobs for ryans. I logged in to service channel to sign in and out of jobs. They never made a penny off me.

Mikey, when I get fookin resi jobs like this I drool for the next restaurant acct.

As we sang
99 pieces of furniture all around...99 pieces of furniture... You move them around block and tab them down 95 pieces of furniture all around ...

Somehow the extra $50 I charged for excessive furniture just wasn't enough! Even knocked over the little sewing seat and spilled that shit everywhere!

Oh, and this is why I have a helper!

that's why I tell customers: "If the chore of moving furniture takes longer then the cleaning--- then the price could double-- which items would you like me to move?"--- odd how I only have to move a few items if any after making this statement.

Dear [FIRST_NAME] [LAST_NAME],

We look forward to your upcoming appointment. We’ll need your assistance to make the areas you want cleaned as accessible as possible.

1. Please arrange for a parking spot as close to your front door or cleaning project as possible

2. Remove all breakable items from the cleaning area and store in a safe area (lamps, collectibles, etc.)

3. Other than large furniture, please remove all items from the floor

(waste baskets, potted plants, brief cases, toys, etc.). If you are physically unable to move things yourself and cannot arrange for help, we will be more than happy to assist. Please pin up or tuck in bed spreads and dust ruffles. Drapes can either be hung up on the end of the rod, gently draped over each other or the ends placed in a plastic garbage bag. Extremely large or heavy items will remain in place (i.e. entertainment units, china cabinets, pianos). We will clean up to the outside edges.
Medium-sized furniture (i.e. tables, coffee tables, end tables, wing chairs, recliners, sofas) can be moved, the area cleaned, and returned to their location. We will place protective padding under furnishings with wood or metal feet to protect the carpet and the furniture. Some furniture is best left off the carpet until completely dried. We will discuss options during your appointment

4. Have a safe place for your pets to stay,

Your front door or other access point will need to be left open during the cleaning process and we would hate it if Skippy or Shadow escaped.

5. Tell us your every concern.

Please point out spots and spills and tell us what they are.
6.We will pre vacuum your carpet prior to cleaning but if you would like to knock dust and cob webs off base boards, ceiling fans and from the back of furniture we recommend doing so prior to our arrival.

7. If we are cleaning your upholstered furniture:

Please have the pieces easily accessible from all sides and away from any breakable objects or delicate floorings. We can clean your sofas or chairs over the carpet/rugs being cleaned that day or if possible we can clean them outside or in your garage. The pieces set can be on tarps as a last resort. Loose cushions will be "A" framed on provided plastic sheeting, preferably outside for quick drying. In most cases furniture should not be reassembled the same day, rather when completely dry the following day.

and finally;

#8. If you have requested a Teflon Protector to be applied to your carpet or furniture after cleaning (recommended!) please plan on treading as lightly as possible for the next 12 hours as the sealant needs time to cure.

Thank you for choosing Connoisseur!

Did you know that we also clean Tile, Stone and Grout? Take a look at our website and blog for more information. If you would like to add on additional work please let us know ahead of time so we can come out for a free in home estimate and add time to complete the additional work.

Thank you Mikey, it's not like we don't call ahead with a list of preparations for our service. But, this elderly couple didn't mind us! I should have given them 30 lashings with a wet noodle but somehow I think they would want more.

Nice list, thanks for sharing. That would give us a great reason to obtain emails
