Spray water out of the center hole on the bottom of the machine? It's the little nut thing attached to the water hub on the head...

Its a check valve I would just change it out with a plug. You can get it at a hardware store.

I had that happen once as well. I took the head off and it was full of dog hair( I had a nasty couple of jobs before that and was too lazy to clean it out), hasn't happened since.
